Well that's depressing. Does this mean they'll try to shove the new Library down our throats, or a bunch of other "city enhancements" that take our money for our own good? Could we actually see fiscally responsible Democrats at the local level? Fingers are crossed.

I think that the Dems sweeping is a good thing. Look at it this way, it was the Republicans who re-build the city which led to the arts community moving in, the re-development of Main Street, DIA, Senic Hudson taking control of our river and Mt Beacon. Maybe now that the Dems are in office, they will all leave.

Actually, Mike, the people who "re-built" the city as you say, were not city council people, but motivated, visionary private citizens like Ron Sauers and Doug Berlin. These people took a decided risk on a downtrodden town and made significant changes to the Main Street. Their work created a domino effect that brought many new and vibrant businesses to town. And they, and, we, the new businesses and their patrons, aren't going anywhere.

Yeah!! :-)
