Opening Night

(Originally posted 10-18-2003 at 10:00 PM)

Tonight was the opening of the a new painting and sculpture exhibition at the Van Brunt gallery here in Beacon. The show features three artists: Catherine Welshman, Antonella Piemontese, and Kandy Littrell. Having seen a few of Welshman's charcoal drawings on display at the Cthonic Clash coffee house, I'm very interested to see what else she has been working on.

Alas, here I am at home in front of my computer. Burning CDs for my brother-in-law before my mother-in-law heads back to Amsterdam on Tuesday. So far I've got Mission of Burma, Spiritualized, Flaming Lips, and Belle and Sebastion for him. Songs I'm pretty sure he's never heard before, but I think he'll enjoy. I'm actually lucky to even have this time to myself. While Finn has been a model infant, Anouk has had troubles with mastitis, a very painful breast condition that results from plugged ducts. So I need to stay close, in case she gets the shakes again.
